Beginning in January 2009 we started a project on the pages of our blog that will hopefully continue for years, Spice University. Every month we will be presenting a different herb, spice or blend. We will provide you with information about each of the spices and tell you of subsitutes, if any exist, and provide you with several recipes to practice using each of the spices that we cover. I hope that you will enjoy this journey. The idea of Spice U. has me smitten. I am very excited about it. Several of the chefs and restaurants that we supply have said that they will participate as well. I hope that you will share some of your recipes also. I would like for this to be very interactive. Sign up for Spice University.

We have a blog that tells all about our current product offerings, recipes and appearances that we will be making. Just click to subscribe to The Colonel's Blog by Email. Not to worry, we will never sell your e-mail address to anyone. Click to read our privacy statement. If you have never seen a blog and wonder what the fuss is all about, just click to visit our blog. We used to send out newsletters and it just got to difficult to compose a newsletter and run the business the way we thought it ought to be run. If you have missed any of the previous issues, of the newsletters and would like to get caught up on your reading, here are all of the newsletters archived for your convenience.

Other accolades this year, in the WE program of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce, Herbs & Spice and Everything Nice was chosen as the Best New Product or Service for 2008. The award is beautiful.

We were also thrilled to learn that we were one of the Best of Cincinnati selections by Cincinnati Magazine. We were honored for our smoked salts. We now have five different smoked salts. Our original smoked salt bourbon smoked, mesquite smoked kosher, apple smoked, alder smoked, and hickory smoked.

The Findlay Market Hour kicked off on Sunday June 17th. This is a new one hour radio program. The purpose is to give the listener information, education, history, some cooking and food preparaion help, and have some fun all focusing on Findlay Market. Unfortunately it was very short lived. The radio station change its format to sports and so we were out the door. There is much discussion now about a different show on several different stations. Please stay tuned for further developments. In the meantime we are attempting to put the three shows that we did produce here so that you can listen to them.

Please click here to listen to the three programs.
